Welcome to the pGina wiki!

pGina is an open source authentication system that replaces the built in authentication of the Microsoft Windows operating system. pGina uses easy-to-write plugins that allow a system to authenticate against virtually any source. Some examples are LDAP, RADIUS, SSH, FTP, SMTP, POP3, and many more. Getting Started is easy, just read on and find out more!

On this wiki you will find links to download pGina, links to support resources, screenshots, plugins, and just about anything else involving pGina. The Wiki is definitely still a work in progress so bear with us while we get it up to speed. We could also use some volunteers from the community to step up as moderators/admins. If you want to do this, please email either steve or nate. As a moderator, you'll be responsible for content creation, management, etc.

pGina 2.1.0 Now Available!! - July 3, 2010 :: 01:16pm EST (Steve Cross)

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to bring you the long awaited pGina 2.1.0. This version is by far the best version of pGina 2.x ever released and also has the most changes. Just to touch on some of the highlights:

  • Added option to require plugin authentication
  • Added silent install support
  • Added encryption support using pGinaKey.dll
  • Added multiple language support to installer
  • Added log rotation support
  • Added automatic ACL settings during install
  • Added automatic drive mapping support
  • Added automatic script/application execution support
  • Fixed lingering account bug
  • Replaced pGinaSrv.exe with pGinaSrvCS.exe (now written in C#)
    • Now attempts 3 times to remove user account
    • Keeps persistent list in registry of all active sessions
    • Keeps list in registry of users created by pGina

And this is just some of the changes. Aside from the changes above, the configure application has received a nice overhaul and a lot of code has been cleaned up on the back end. For a complete list of changes, take a look at the [PGina_2.x_Changelog#v2.1.0|changelog]]

Please swing by and pick up your own copy.

LDAPauth Plus 1.5.3 for 64 bit available for download / Contact Form Fixed - June 15, 2010 :: 10:16pm EST (Steve Cross)

I am happy to announce that due to high demand, the LDAPauth Plus plugin is now available for download. You can pick up your very own copy from the LDAPauth Plus page.

Also, I would like to give my thanks to the many people who reported to me that the contact form was not working properly. Tonight I was finally able to hunt down that it was an issue of Postfix not being configured properly on my server. I have made the necessary change and the issue should be resolved now. If anyone continues to experience issues with it, please let me know!
