More About Encrypted Settings:
Without a custom pGinaKey.dll in your %SYSTEM32% folder, pGina will use a null key for encryption, if you prefer to use a random key, click here and one will be generated for you. Download the resulting file and place it in your %SYSTEM32% folder with the name pGinaKey.dll and make sure that it has ONLY permission for Administrator and SYSTEM (at least read). If you prefer to not use a random key (fixed length) as generated by our tool, you can download the source for the pGinaKey.dll from sourceforge and change the key and length yourself, compile and use that dll.
While this solution does not offer 100% security, it does obsfucate the settings values, and provide a larger hurdle for prying eyes. My thanks to Robin Greenhagen and Server Heroes http://www.serverheroes.com for coming up with this idea and funding its implementation for the community.
DO NOT LOSE YOUR KEY - After saving your settings as encrypted, they CANNOT be read without it, if you lose it or it is deleted you will lose all your settings. To go back to unencrypted settings, simply change the option in pGina’s advanced tab THEN remove your key.
Note that all files are made available for your use with NO WARRANTY whatsoever. We will not be held responsible for anything that results from using any of these files.
